BACKGROUND

A near-wordless picture book for young children from 0-6 with brightly coloured monsters who are real friends – they play, laugh and cuddle, but they also tease, argue and make up.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR

Mies van Hout (Eindhoven, 1962) works as illustrator and graphic designer since 1989. She especially illustrates her own picture books for children, but also illustrate for writers such as Paul Biegel, Vivian den Hollander en Hanna Kraan. Her first book, Kiki en Pim: een tweeling van drie was published in 1988. Her books have been published in more than twenty languages. In 2015 Mies van Hout made the picture book for the Dutch Children’s Book Week, commissioned by CPNB.
