ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Aleksandra Mizielińska and Daniel Mizieliński (both born in 1982) are graphic designers and book authors from Poland, graduates of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Partners in life and in art, the illustrators are associated with the revolution in the Polish children’s book market. Their bold style derives from comics and caricature, and their specialty is encyclopedic books for children – exhaustive compendia of knowledge (in architecture, geography and art) in visually attractive forms. Their books, such as H.O.U.S.E, What Will Become of You?, the Welcome to Mamoko series, Maps, and Under Earth, Under Water, were published in over thirty countries. The duo has received numerous awards and distinctions for their book and Internet designs, including the prestigious international Bologna Ragazzi Award (2010), the French Prix Sorcières (2013) and the Italian Premio Andersen (2013). Daniel teaches game design at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts.
